A custom print is only as good as the photo behind it. The good news: you don't need a professional camera. With a few simple checks, the pictures already on your phone can become stunning wall art. Here's how to pick the right one.
1. Start With the Highest Resolution You Have
Bigger prints need more detail. Always upload the original file straight from your camera or phone — not a screenshot, a social-media download, or a photo someone texted you (messaging apps shrink images). As a rule of thumb, the larger the print, the more important resolution becomes.
2. Check Focus and Lighting
Zoom in to 100% before you commit. If the subject looks soft or blurry on your screen, it will look soft on the wall too. Photos taken in bright, even light reproduce best; very dark or heavily backlit shots can lose detail when printed.
3. Compose for Your Size and Orientation
Decide early whether you want square, portrait, or landscape, because the crop changes the feel of the image. Leave a little breathing room around the subject so nothing important gets trimmed at the edges. In our design studio you can see exactly how the crop will look before ordering.
4. Mind the Colors
Light edits — a touch more brightness or contrast — can help, but avoid heavy filters that may look different in print than on a glowing screen. If color accuracy matters (a wedding dress, a sunset, skin tones), choose a well-lit original and keep edits subtle.
5. Use the Right File Type
We accept JPG, PNG and WEBP up to 15 MB. JPG is perfect for photos; PNG is great for graphics or text overlays.
